Engine Air Filter 

WHAT IS IT

The engine air filter is a disposable, pleated-paper element that has a sealing gasket made of synthetic material. Engine air filters come in two main types: panel, which is used in most fuel-injected/traditional cars, and radial, which is often used in carbureted vehicles. 

WHY DO IT

The engine air filter traps dirt particles, which can cause damage to your engine cylinders, valves, pistons, and piston rings. An unmaintained engine air filter can become clogged and starve your engine of the air needed to mix with your vehicle’s fuel. This can cause increased fuel usage and reduced engine performance. Your vehicle’s engine uses up to 20,000 litres of air for every 3.5 litres of fuel burned so scheduled maintenance of your engine air filter is crucial for your vehicle’s overall health and performance and should be changed every 20,000km – 40,000km depending on your driving conditions. 

HOW IT IS SERVICED

Your expert Master Mechanic technician will inspect your engine air filter during each scheduled oil change and will determine whether a new engine air filter is required at the time of your visit.
